On Friday 10th June, St Joseph’s celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday by holding a ‘street party’ in the school playground. We had lunch altogether, pairing up with another class. We then had fun and games by playing crazy golf, pin the crown on the queen, how many jewels in the jar, guess the weight of the crown, hoop-a-crown and score a crown.
We had a DJ on site, playing songs from the decades, ‘Candy’ was a big hit and all the children had learned a dance routine for this song and danced together when it was played. They also danced to the songs Jailhouse Rock, Let’s Twist Again among many more.
We ended our street party by singing the National Anthem and Happy Birthday to HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Our prayers for good weather were answered and we all had such a marvellous day.
Thank you to all parents for their kind donations of food and refreshments for the day.
