Day Three
Feeling Free on Day Three!
We had a lot of sleepyheads this morning, so Room Inspections will be before lights out this evening. We started Day Three in Little Canada with another tasty breakfast – lots of children are loving the hash browns!
Group 1 (Joshua A, Rafael, Isabella, George, Nathanael, Nicole, Jack, David and Ivan) and Group 2 (Tyler, Chibuikem, Nnamdi, Kosi, Hannah, Grace, Clodagh, Ruthmary, Frankie and Charlotte) began the day with the Matrix.
Group 1 then moved onto the Zip Wire, whilst Group 2 headed on for the towering heights of the Vertical Challenge. Even some of adults faced their fears and got involved, cheered on by the children!
Group 3 (Miguel, Darren, Isaac, Joshua M, Daniel Log., Daniel La., Abimbola, Osayi, Masako and Ayobami) and Group 4 (Adam, Alyssa, Kalum, Tobias, Saphira, Edek, Maya, Nathan, Keishani and Torin) began their day with some lovely Beach Activities. Following that, Group 3 and Group 4 went on to complete the Matrix.
We enjoyed some free time in the sun, with some games of chess, football and basketball.
The afternoon saw Groups 1 and 2 take part in Archery and Orienteering. Group 3 started off with Archery, before moving onto the Zip Wire, whilst Group 4 started at the Zip Wire and ended with Archery.
Day Three – Islanders of the Day
David – Group 1 – Miss Soutter said, “What a superstar David has been today! Not only did he face his fears with the Zip Wire, he constantly helped his group members with their equipment, as well as always being polite to the adults. Well done, David!”
Charlotte – Group 2 – Mr Humm said, “Charlotte is my Islander today. She approaches every task with positivity and a can- do attitude that is infectious to the other children. Furthermore, Charlotte is a team player by supporting other children when it is their turn and is also very polite and respectful to the activity leaders.”
Miguel – Group 3 – Ms Oye said, “I have chosen Miguel today for his enthusiasm in all activities. We had fun building a sandcastle at the beach then had a competition to see whose castle was the strongest.”
Tobias – Group 4 – Miss Elston said, “Today, I have chosen Tobias. Throughout the day, he has participated in every activity with excitement and eagerness. Tobias loved the Zip Wire, telling me that even though from the stand it looked scary, it really wasn’t! However, Tobias really showed his enthusiasm with the Matrix activity, completing a number of escape room tasks, working as a team with his group. He was supportive, encouraging and a great team player!
Miss Allen’s Islander of the Day!
Chibuikem has been an excellent team player today, and shown such care and consideration to his peers! He was especially supportive of Nnamdi on the Vertical Challenge, and waited for him and encouraged him at each step. It was lovely to see such kindness from him!
After a little more free time, and dinner, the children throughly enjoyed a few rounds of Laser Tag. It is safe to say, this was the highlight of the day! Both Fisher and Dempsey won one round each, meaning it ended 1-1! As always, we will keep you updated with all of our adventures. Look out for another update tomorrow.
Ciao for now!
Miss Allen
