We have had a fantastic week celebrating the King’s Coronation. The school was decorated from top to bottom, including the playground! Yesterday, we had our Garden Party, in which we sang our originally composed Coronation song. The children had a fantastic time eating afternoon tea and having a chance to play with younger / older children. ITV News were there to film the event and the children loved the experience. Some of them saw themselves on ITV London News last night! This is a memory that will stay with them for a long time. We are proud of all of our children, in how they have entered into the spirit of celebrations and remembering the King in their prayers as he prepares for his Coronation tomorrow. St Joseph’s has also been on Southwark News’ website and the print version, which came out yesterday. To round off the celebrations, the parents came to the playground at the end of the day today, and all children performed ‘Coronation Day’, the song composed specifically for our school, and parents then joined in with the National Anthem. The parents looked very proud and the children’s singing was followed by loud applause!
We hope you all have a restful Bank Holiday weekend.
